Mission Statement

Centre for Philippine Concerns Australia (CPCA) is a statewide organisation of Filipinos in Victoria committed to a culture of community service, respect for difference and shared vision and knowledge by representing issues and advocating for a strong voice and active participation by Filipinos in the whole community.

Our Vision to the Filipino Community

We believe in the right of the Filipino community to equal access and participation in the resources of Australia.

We believe in Australian society, which values its cultural diversity and uses it to achieve peace, harmony, and equality for its people. In the context of a multicultural Australia, we have the right and responsibility to develop and strengthen our own Filipino Australian culture, drawn from our indigenous culture and our experiences as immigrants in this country.

In order to achieve this vision, CPCA is working towards empowering the Filipino community in Victoria through research, networking, advocacy and/or lobbying, education and training, organising cultural events, assisting Filipino community groups in capacity building, and delivery of welfare service.

Our Aims to the Filipino Community

Act as an advocate for Filipino immigrants, committed to promoting their well being and rights for a better economic, political and cultural life in Victoria.

Seek equal opportunity for Filipino immigrants in areas of employment, education, health, and other social services.

Provide welfare services to disadvantaged members of the Filipino community, particularly the new arrivals, unemployed, vulnerable/at risk women and elderly, and youth with juvenile issues.

Support and assist Filipino community groups in capacity building and run joint initiatives.

Promote goodwill with other Australians and respectfully acknowledge the native owners of Australia.

Foster and promote the Filipino cultural heritage as an integral part of multicultural Victoria.

Facilitate assistance and support to activities/projects in the Philippines requiring international solidarity initiatives (eg. Disaster-response, economic crisis, peace initiatives, and many others).
